I'm glad my piece inspired you enough to write such a passioned response! The perspective shift is interesting I think. I wrote "thinking about retirement at 24 is laughable" because I've been told many times "it's too early to think about that stuff". Of course, now they've changed their minds.

Also, that $130,000 student debt is eye-watering for sure. It works a little differently in the UK though, more like a tax, so we don't have to worry so much about it.
