Speaking from the other side of this, as a transgender son, it warms my heart to read these words coming from a loving mother. I have a feeling my mother would be nodding her head along with the sentiments you’ve provided here. Especially the difficulty in addressing one’s personal biases towards thinking of strangers as ‘male’ or ‘female’.
